What is the role of Accounts Payable?
The Accounts Payable position supports the company’s finance department administratively. This person is in charge of keeping track of receipts and supporting documentation for all payments that have been made, as well as handling the company’s outbound cash flow, including payments to suppliers, vendors, and other liabilities.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Process payments and invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle ongoing transactions and keep up with supporting paperwork.
- Handle requests for examination of employee expense reports.
- Manage invoices, receipts, vouchers, and disbursements.
- Handle intercompany transactions.
- Enter and confirm money received and money spent on the company’s behalf, ensuring information is recorded in the database and kept up to date.
- Handle job cost changes and general ledger entries.
- Ensure repeating entries are modified or stopped at the proper trigger points.
Accounts Payable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated professional experience in Accounting (1+ years preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Exposure to MS Office Suite programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced workplace environment.
