What Does a Human Resources Project Administrator Do?

A Human Resources Project Administrator aids the HR Department by delivering specialized, analytical, and technical support for HR-focused special assignments.

This role involves compiling information from various stakeholders and actively participating in every stage of the project. The HR Project Administrator is extensively involved in designing, coordinating, and executing tasks related to particular transformative, strategic, and technology-driven initiatives.

HR Project Administrator Responsibilities

  • Assist the HR Project Manager and HR leadership with planning, overseeing, executing, and tracking project progress.
  • Develop, update, review, and ensure the precise and timely preparation of project documentation.
  • Organize and manage the comprehensive process of collecting data for all essential project documents, including problem definitions, business cases, project outlines, business needs, change proposals, progress reports, key milestones, accomplishments, benefits, risks, and stakeholder logs.
  • Generate and maintain project timelines, status reports, and updates.
  • Contribute to HR transformation projects and company-wide continuous improvement efforts.
  • Aid the HR Project Manager and project team in designing and refining processes, procedures, and tools in partnership with HR personnel.

HR Project Administrator Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, or a comparable discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A minimum of two years of proven experience in an HR Project Administrator or Project Coordinator role.
  • Familiarity with supporting projects utilizing hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Understanding of HR concepts, practices, and labor regulations.
  • Proficient in computer technology, technical skills, and data management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and robust organizational skills.
